Baby Eczema Causes

If I stop breastfeeing will my babies eczema go away?
I have a 3 month old baby. He has bad eczema and a friend said that it's probably because of something I'm eating that's causing the eczema since I'm breastfeeding. She said if I stop breastfeeding for a week and give him formula his skin will clear up. Is that true?
I am a breast feeding fiend so you may not like what I am going to say. If you start your child on a bottle, he probably won't want to nurse again! It is more difficult for milk to come from the breasts than the bottle. Babies have to suck harder on your nipples.
My third child had eczema. The only food I could eat was, white bread and chicken. I could only drink water and beer (which I hated) so I drank very little. This was to increase my flow of milk. I maintained this stringent diet for six months (I am a die hard breast feeder). I began to add other things to my diet gradually until I was eating the things I enjoyed.
Eczema will not disappear forever, but it is a reaction to things that irritate the individual. If you are willing to sacrifice for your son, begin eliminating foods that could be the culprit (start with dairy products, citrus, caffeine, etc.). Two days without should show a difference.
If you are on a prescription medication check those as well. Goats milk, although more costly, is closer to mother's milk; if you choose to stop breastfeeding go with that. Also check out the La Leche League's website for more information. (They are a VERY STRICT BREASTFEEDING GROUP!!! I am not that strict).
Good luck and happy nursing!
