Can I join the military still?

I am trying to join the Coast Guard. I am trying to process in Nagshead, North Carolina. The problem is I have Allergic Contact Dermatitis (slang term is eczema, though its not the same as atopic dermatitis). I did not tell my recruiter cause I know they dont grant waivers.

I read they give the smallpox vaccine at boot camp..is that true? the vaccine and eczema can cause bad side effects i heard. if i dont admit to my recruiter but then tell them right before the shot that i have eczema will i get kicked out? if i get the shot will i be ok?

Any advice would be cool and id be grateful.
there is a less than 1% chance I will have an outbreak from the vaccine though
Chances of getting an eczema waiver are 0-1%

Do Doctors Know What Causes Eczema?

The sad and very unfortunate truth of the matter is that doctors still do not fully understand exactly what causes eczema. They know it is most likely linked in some way to a poorly functioning immune system that creates a skin reaction after it has come into contact with an irritant. This causes the normal skins function as a barrier to be greatly impaired resulting in eczema symptoms.

Research has brought to light the fact that people who have atopic dermatitis, the most common form of eczema, can often be predisposed to the condition due to their families genetics and history with allergies. Often they will have certain gene abnormalities that will create defects in some proteins that are vital for maintaining the protective barrier of healthy skin.

Most people don't realize that they have eczema until their skin comes into contact with some form of irritant that will trigger it. These can be anything and it is why it is often hard to pinpoint exactly what causes eczema in each individual.

Some of the most common triggers eczema sufferers should be aware of include soaps, detergents, shampoos, cosmetics, perfumes, certain types of clothing fabric such as wool and jewelery. Then there are the environmental factors to be wary of such as changes in temperature, most notably excessive heat and cold winds, pollen, dust, fungi and molds. Even would you believe stress and anxiety can be a contributing factor. This is why it is vital to work out your triggers as soon as possible and try and eliminate exposure to them.
