Eczema Above Lip
What are these cuts on the side of my mouth?
i've tried blistex, neosporin, regular chap stick, eczema cream, carmex and all this other crap but it just keeps getting worse. i also have red, dry patches above my upper lip and below my bottom lip and i look gross. i heard that it could be possible that retainers stretch out your mouth at night and i wear them so im not sure if that's why i have the cuts. i get them when it's cold out but not this bad and they usually go away. i really really really want to get rid of this, anyone got any suggestions? ( it's not herpes )
and i drink alottttt of water its basically all i drink, i don't really get that much vitamin c that so thats a possibility.. and i think i will skip my retainers for a while
Like others have said, it sounds like REALLY chapped lips. I have retainers too, and skipping them for a night or too to allow your lips to heal shouldn't affect your teeth. It's red above and below your lips because of your saliva. When you lick your lips in an attempt to keep them from cracking or being dry, you're actually making them worse. >.<
Just try keep using some of that really medicated chapstick, DON'T lick your lips, skip the retainer for a little while, I wouldn't recommend any juices that burn your cuts either. Eee! Although, it also might be a side affect of Vitamin C deficiency. If that's the case, drink some more OJ!
