Eczema Around Eyes In Children
Please help me with a Eczema problem.?
I know this question has been asked before, but i really want something thats given you results! My little girl cries at night from the frustration of scratching! she's only 2 and she scratches so hard she bleeds! We took her to a dermatologist and she RX something but it only seemed to make it worse. we had to keep her out of Daycare because of the bleeding, I went and bought her the Aveeno bath packs and lotion and shampoo, i put cortizone and sometimes A&D ointment cause it soothes her skin a bit, Its so sad to see her in pain, she even has some patches around her eyes and nose. I know my husband had it really bad when he was a child but this is extreme! pleasse help me, Does anyone know what I can do?
I know this isn't what you want to hear, but I've had eczema since I was born ,and my skin still busts open and oozes and bleeds from eczema, and I'm 16.
I've found that using unscented bath products with moisturizer in them helps.
I also constantly use lotion with lots of moisturizer in it to clear it up, the key to keeping th eczema under control is keeping your skin moisturized.
I've also been on steroidal creams and ointments since I was a baby. Right now I use dermatop and clobetisol. I doubt that any doctor will prescribe your 2 year old either of these prescriptions, but you may want to mention that her skin bleeds and she scratches a lot. They'll probably prescribe her a much milder steroid for her skin.
I'd also try giving her baths in cooler water to take some of the heat off of her skin.
