I have hand eczema. How do i get rid of it?

I dont want to spend money on a store product that might not even work! So how can i get rid of my eczema at home?? Besides that whole eat healthy thing. Like i want my eczema gone in a few days. i had it for over 10 years!!!

I have contact dermatitis (aka eczema) on my hands too. First if you know what caused it (like washing your hands at work too many times, chemicals or substances coming into contact with your skin) avoid it. If you can't avoid the cause of your eczema you will always have it. It will come back even if you treat it. Now I got rid of my hand eczema by using hydrocortisone cream. It's pretty cheap at walmart. I just bought the cheap equate brand. About 3 something for a tube. It took me about 5 tubes. Apply it twice a day for a week or so (read the directions). It is the most effective thing I have found to fight eczema. Works with in days. Try a tube you will see. Once you get it under control you have to prevent it from coming back. To do this you have to protect your hands. Especially from stuff like dish washing soap, hand soap and even shampoo. Any thing that irritates your hands is bad. Wear gloves or put on some Vaseline intensive care lotion. I do this before I go into the shower. It helps. If your hands are like mine were getting water on your hands should case them to get really itchy and burn. I used to rub skin off my hands in the shower.

Does Treating Eczema At Home Really Work?

If you suffer with Eczema you know how expensive it can be taking prescribed medications and seeking help from a dermatologist. Many people are treating their eczema at home now with great results. They are doing this without the high costs of medicines and prescribed creams that have side affects if used for long periods of time.

When seeking medical attention, generally you will be prescribed a cortisone cream or even cortisone shots to help with the symptoms that are associated with eczema. This does offer some relief, but continual use will begin to have its drawbacks.

Our bodies develop immunity to cortisone over time so the current dosage being used sooner or later will no longer be effective. When this happens the dosage will have to be increased which can lead to thinning of the skin and even cause the blood vessels in the inflamed area to become enlarged.

If you’ve been diagnosed with eczema, the first place you need to start when trying to fight this is to have an allergy test done. Most eczema outbreaks are brought on by an allergic reaction to common foods like dairy or wheat. There are numerous allergies that could be the cause, but have a test done to see if they can't find the problem.

If all test results come out negative I would definitely still remove all dairy products from your diet for a couple of weeks just to make sure that's not the culprit. There have been many cases where people who went ahead and removed all dairy from their diet, even though the results were negative, saw great improvements in their condition.

If you are someone who has allergies, a great way to treat eczema at home is to try Ginkgo. Ginkgo helps in reducing allergic reactions by decreasing hypersensitivity which in turn greatly reduces redness and itching. Studies have shown that ginkgo has compounds that block allergic skin reactions.

To take ginkgo, if you are going to use extract look for a standardized ginkgo that contains 24% flavonoid glycosides which is the herb's active constituent. Standardized Ginkgo Biloba is made from the leaves which prove to be very safe and effective. Recommended dosage is 120 to 160 mg per day. 40 mg tablets would be taken 3 times a day with a meal.

Do not take ginkgo if you are on blood thinners or are any other medications. Always consult your physician as a precautionary measure before using ginkgo.

So does treating your eczema at home really work? The answer is yes! You can achieve better results than most medications and most importantly, it’s safer.
