Eczema Behind Knees
Eczema Behind Knees
My daughter of 15 months suffers from infantile eczema.?

We have tried every topical cream possible and the doctor prescribed a steroidal one which has no effect either.
It was initially on her elbows and behind her knees, now has almost covered her entire body. She is unable to sleep day or night due to the itching thus has developed dark circles under her eyes at this tiny age. We are in dire need for a cure, please help.

STOP using the steroid cream immediately. Bathe your daughter in cool water but use NO soap for now. Use only cotton cloth diapers that are dried in the sun. Go to a good 'bath products store' (it should sell NOTHING but soaps, lotions, and bath stuff) and tell them you want a tin of PURE SHEA OIL. Also get a bar of pure shea oil soap. Bathe your daughter with the soap, rinse her in a different tub, and smooth the shea oil over her body ... shea oil is not only a moisturizer, but also helps people who have 'skin conditions' that do not respond to other 'creams.' I learned about this from a woman in a bath products store who had been burned over 60% of her body ... I tried it on my husband, who has acute sebhorrea, and it WORKS! I have been told that it also works on people with eczema, so I'm passing the information on to you. NEVER use any 'body lotion' or normal soap on your daughter, because they will dry the skin and the eczema will get worse. I hope this helps. Also NEVER use 'hot-warm' water on her, even to wash her hair. Cool water may take longer to wash her in/with, but it's safer. Also, take your daughter to a children's hospital clinic dermatologist who treats infants. It may NOT be eczema she has, since that comes in 'patches' and doesn't cover the whole body. Good luck with your baby!
