Eczema Emollients

Duty Of Care When My Daughter Is In School Concerning Applying Her Medicines?
Up to what level of care can I expect my daughters primary school to provide her with with regard to applying prescribed medicines.
My six year old daughter has very bad eczema which I manage to control fairly well, however when she is at school it would seem that even though I have asked them to encourage her to apply her emollients hourly she still comes out with skin which is far worse than when I left her. I feel like I am fighting a losing battle and have had to keep her from going to school again today, so I can gain control of her skin. I have been into the school on probably four seperate occasions to politely ask them to make sure she applies her cream. Legally does anyone know where I stand as to what I am entitled to ask of them a duty of care.
The school have a large pump of cream that is kept in the classroom everything they need is there.
Doctors note and then send a bottle of the cream to school for them to keep. It should be treated as a prescription by the school. The problem may be that they are not reminding her, what is her age. I think at age 9, they consider that the child is to know when to apply the stuff and ask to be excused if it is necessary to do so. You need to look into the school policies on meds and maybe even contact the school board with your questions. They may be able to help you come up with a solution, like getting your daughter a watch with a timer to remind her to apply her cream. Then, if by going to the school board you get no satisfaction, see a lawyer and ask if you have any legal grounds.
Treatment for Atopic Eczema
Unfortunately, there is no cure for atopic eczema found yet. The only treatment that exists for atopic eczema is to control and ameliorate the symptoms for atopic eczema.
In cases of atopic eczema you can treat this condition at home. Some of the remedies for treating eczema at home can be found in pharmacies. Here are some of the eczema treatments that you can find. First there are emollients, which can help your skin to stay smooth and give it plenty of water, fighting against eczema. This is the most used eczema treatment. It is indicated that you use emollients even if you do not suffer from eczema. These creams, lotions and ointments that are used to treat eczema can pe applied directly on your skin. The best time to do that is after you have just had a bath or a shower. There are also eczema lotions that can be used when bathing.
The second most used atopic eczema treatment is with mild steroid creams. This type of eczema treatment is used because it can calm your skin very much and also suppress the body response to inflammation.
In case these eczema treatments do not have the expected response, there are other eczema treatments that your doctor can prescribe for you. Next on the list are strong steroid creams. This treatment for atopic eczema is only available with a prescription. Be very careful though not to keep the cream too long on your body, because it may thinner your skin. The best thing to do in this case, when using this kind of eczema prescription is to do regular check ups. In case of severe eczema, tablets of steroids are available. This kind of treatment for eczema is only used for a short period of time. Another severe eczema medication are immunosuppresants, which come in the form of tablets. However, this type of eczema treatment can have major
side effects, so it must not be taken for a long period of time. The best thing to do is consult your doctor and decide together with him/ her what eczema treatment is better for you.
Antibiotics are also another treatment for eczema, but only if the skin is infected. Because itching is a major problem when having an eczema, antihistamines are also prescribed. They do not make such a big difference in an eczema, but they can ease the itching and help you sleep better.
