Eczema Itch At Night
Eczema Itch At Night
dyshidrotic eczema cure?

I am down to the last drop of my prescription cream for dyshidrotic eczema and I have found nothing that comes close the cream that can allow me to sleep at night without all the itching. It is cold and dry where I live so I am going crazy. Does anyone know of an over the counter livesaver? plain old lotions like jergens and neutrogena don't help... dermasil even doesn't touch it...I am going to be insane before spring arrives!

Some Hard Situations That You May Face When Your Child Has Eczema

Eczema, or also known as atopic dermatitis.  Even it is just a common skin condition, but nobody wants to have it.  Unfortunately, if you aren’t lucky enough and affected with eczema, that’s one story.  But if your child are diagnosed with eczema, that’s another story, and that means you have a long road ahead.  As parents, you can’t avoid these following difficult issues that is coming.

- Itching at Night. For children with eczema, you might think that itching at night and itching during the day is the same condition, but it is very different, especially in small children.  If your child is old enough, when he feels the urge to itch, even he doesn’t know about what would happen if he continue to scratch, but he might remember what he did during the day, and that can make you find out the cause of his itching.

But for small children, when they feel itch, they would continue to scratch, and, of course, it’s hard for you to find out the itching cause since they couldn’t remember what they did during the day.  Well, this is one of the hard situation you will face because you can’t stay up all night, grabbing your child’s hands from scratching.

Even it is a hard situation, but it’s not so hard to fight against it.  First, you need to find out what cause the itching, then try to correct at the source.  For example, if your child’s eczema is caused by the dust, then, you need to keep your child’s room clean and dust free.  Or if his eczema is triggered by sweat, then, you need to keep your child’s room in cool temperature and dress him with light clothes.  However, if you really can’t find out the itching cause, then, just try to cover your child’s itching area, such as, arms and legs.

- Pain. There is not much of a pain when first affected with eczema.  Then, where is the pain come from?  The answer is easy.  It begins with itching, then follow by scratching, and more scratching, finally, your child is digging at his skin since he mistakenly thinks that doing this will eliminate the itch, but it won’t.  Instead, it will cause some severe rashes, and even open wounds, which develop to pain and discomfort.  So, if you don’t want to see your child in pain, you need to stop it at the cause.  Have a talk to your child and try to find out what cause his eczema.  Until then, try to keep your child’s skin well moisturized.

- Reaction from other parents. This is another hard situation that you will face when you take your child to the public, playground, for instance.  If your child eczema can be easily noticed, there is a high opportunity that you would get many stares from other parents or other kids.  However, you must remember one thing.  If you need to cover your child’s eczema area, make sure that you do this because you want to prevent his affected area from infection.  Don’t cover them just to please other people.

Besides getting many stares as stated earlier, you might be asked a question by other parents.  That question usually is:  “Is eczema contagious?”  But the worst is that some parents automatically believe that it is.  I really do understand that actually, you don’t owe an explanation to no one, but in this situation, you may need to say something.  I know how you feel to see other people whisper and point at your child’s eczema rash, but explaining to them might help you get out of this bad feeling.

These are just only part of the situations that you may face as parents of a child with eczema.  Be prepare for it, and in the meantime, try to find a way to cure for your child eczema.  If you don’t want to pay for some expensive medical attention, I believe that there are some natural home remedies which can help curing your child eczema for good.
