Eczema Labia
Lesions around the vagina?
I've had for several years now this lesion around my vaginal area. not on the labia but the skin just next to it. I believe this lesion is due to my constant scratching-it itches al the time. At one point I saw a gyno and she thought it was herpes. I went ahead and got a blood test done, it came out negative. Then i saw a dermo and he said it was eczema.
It doesn't burn, only when I scratched it down to the flesh. I know it sounds bad, but all the creams I've applied hasn't relinquished the itching.
Would anyone know what this could be? and if so how I might go about relieving it?
Have a gyn exam and have the health care provider do a genital culture for bacteria. Sometimes you can have an overgrowth of vaginal bacteria that "spills out" onto the surrounding area creating irritation. Treatment depends on what type of bacteria is present.
Other possibilities include a contact type of irritation from panty liners, soaps, sprays, etc.
