Eczema Medication For Babies
Using Mimyx to treat baby's eczema?
My baby has eczema on his legs, arms, chest and cheeks. We've tried 1% cortizone, different shampoos, lotions, etc. and nothing seemed to work. Finally the doctor prescribed Mimyx cream for his eczema and after using it only a few days it seems to be working. However, I'd like to know if you have experience with this medication and if the effects will last or I will have to apply it all the time for it to work. Also, is it safe to put on a baby's face since he touches his face with his hands and then puts his fingers in his mouth all the time.

There is so much you can do - the one thing that I advise you is DONOT use cortisone/steroid creams at all if possible unless infection develops. If that is the case, use it for as long as the infection is at its worst then change over to BEPANTHEN. Steroids affect babies growth, thins the skin permanently & has a long list of side effects.
Breastfeeding is the best form of feeding as there are antibodies in the milk. If you do breastfeed it is important to not eat cows milk dairy products (cheese, icecream, milk, youghurt & cream), try goats milk or soya products instead.
Donot use any soap products to wash your baby, use sorbelene cream instead or an Ego Pharmaceuticals product called Pinetarsol.
I made a cream from a Sorbelene base, I added pure essential oils of French Lavender, Rose Geranium & Tangerine, also added extra Glycerine, Apricot, Wheatgerm & vit E oils with water. I used this as a soap/shampoo alternative, I also used it to change nappies (diapers) rather than using wipes. I also made up a rich massage oil using Apricot, Vit E & Avocado oils with the same pure essential oils. A ratio of 50mls base to 15 drops essential oil.
When washing babies clothes, try to use a pure/gentle soap solution & put the clothes through 2 or 3 rinse cycles to remove all soap residue.
Lambswool, Wool blends & Nylon clothing, blankets, carpets etc are the worst offenders for setting off eczema... use cotton or silk.
Finally, if babies skin starts to bleed, please ensure that you only use COTTON GAUZE bandages... absolutely no crepe or stretchy bandages. Apply the Bepanthen cream fairly generously, then cover with wet bandages. This cools the skin & allows moisture to help heal the skin.
When baby is a little older, perhaps it may be beneficial to consult a dermatologist, herbalist & have an alergan skin test done then diet eliminations to see what it is that causes the outbreaks.
