Eczema Of The Lips Pictures
Dry patch on upper lip?
I have a small circle of dry skin on my upper lip. It dries then the skin peels off leaving it open and sore. The process then repeats itself. It is not a cold sore, more like eczema.
The doctor recommended hydrocortisone which did clear it up after a couple of weeks but it now doesn't seem to make any difference. I am getting married in a few weeks and really want to get rid of it so I don't have a big red patch on my lip in all the pictures!
I had dry patches last year and I found a face mask by Garnier that contains honey and it cleared up the dry skin. I bought it from Superdrug.

Doctors will just usually prescribe cheap stuff like E45 or aqueous cream that contains mineral oils. Mineral oils come in many names such as paraffin, baby oil, Vaseline and petrolatum. It's derived from crude oil production and it won't sink into your skin to nourish it. Only natural oils sink into your skin. Mineral oils are good at providing a barrier to stop moisture escaping and to stop chemicals affecting your skin and good for babies bottoms to stop urine affecting the skin, but you need a natural oil to sink in, so I would buy one yourself.
