Eczema Oil Treatment

Has anyone tried eczema wet wraps?
My three year old has severe eczema, we've tried just about everything, I'd like to try doing a wet wrap, I think it would help, but the directions online are a little vague. Anyone actually tried this? How about the tubifast garments? Does anyone know a place in the US I can order them? Any other alternative treatments? Has anyone tried Neem cream?
thanks, guys, the skin on her poor little arms is all red and cracked open from itching at night. We've had allergy tests done..... I currently use vaseline, mixed with a little honey, olive oil, oatmeal baths, and don't know what to do for my baby Please help!!!
Hello. I feel your pain. My 2 year old daughter and 1 year old son have it all over their bodies. Their legs and feet are the worst parts. Instead of spending money on the tubifast garments, use your child's PJs. I have just started the "wet wrap" treatments and it does make a difference. I have tried everything oatmeal baths, oils, steriod creams (from doctors), everything in my house is dye free, perfume free, all natural. But the "wet wrap" is the first thing that has given them relief. I recently started this with them. They used to itch ALL the time and now it's not near has bad. Here's how we do the "wet wrap"....... I put their PJs in the washing machine, then give them a bath, apply Aquaphor (which is kinda like vaseline), then I take their PJs out of the washing machine and put them on them, then put on a dry pair of PJs over the wet ones. He would think that they would get hot with two pairs of PJs on but since the first layer is wet they stay cool. I hope this helps you.
Side Effects of Eczema and Treatment
Atopic dermatitis, or better known as eczema, is a severe drying of the skin. It is a hereditary condition most often seen in the form of a rash. It is common for babies to suffer from it, and most will grow out of the condition as a teen or adult. The skin condition is so common in fact that ten to twenty percent of people may suffer from it either as a child or adult. Unfortunately, there are irritating side effects associated with it. Here are some of the side effects or symptoms you will see if you or your child has eczema.
A side effect that any and every eczema sufferer will experience is chronic itching. The skin becomes very dry and flaky which leads to irritation. The best way to temporary stop the itching is to scratch your skin. However, this is very bad for it because the constant scratching can result in a rash. The itching is cause from an inflammation of the skin because it can’t moisturize itself or stay properly moisturized during the day.
The skin will appear to be inflamed, dry, red, and flaky. You can decrease the side effects by using some type of natural eczema oil. Quality ingredients you should look for in an oil are Kukui nut oil, premium emu oil, and jojoba Oil. All of which are high in vitamin E. These ingredients are proven to be effective because emu and Kukui nut oil have been used for centuries for their ability to soothe eczema and other skin related ailments.
Because the skin can become so irritated, the constant or frequent scratching can cause the skin to crack or bleed. This will make your skin ooze which leads to infections. Another side effect of the skin condition is blistering. This is usually associated with more severe cases. Bleeding, oozing, and blisters make it possible for eczema to spread over the body. It isn’t contagious, but it does spread on your own skin.
Eczema will most likely been seen as dry, red patches throughout your skin. Severe cases will include some of the other side effects. There are also side effects with medicines used to treat it. Most prescribed medications have noted that the itching and redness increases. This may happen because of synthetic ingredients are chemicals used to make the product. Using natural skin care products for eczema are safe and are only made with organic products. Another great advantage of natural products is that they can be used on any ages and are safe for babies as well.
