Eczema On Scalp Baby

Skin problems with my 7 month old baby... help?
My baby has had skin issues since she was 1 month old.She has flaky scalp which causes her to scratch herself and as a result she bleeds. This then spread to other parts of other body but without flaking. We took her to our family doc and he said that this is baby eczema, and told us that this would pass with time as she gets older. The doc also gave her a small course of hydro cortisone ointment as she developed bad eczema on her bottom. But as she has gotten older the problem has got better since he prescribed Hydromol Emollient. However, now me and my wife are both concerned because parts of her skin are now showing patches of discolouration where her skin is lighter. This is mainly found around the area of her bottom and behind her legs and thighs.
We are going to see a specialist but I would welcome any advice from parents who have experienced similar issues with their babies. Thanks.
You have my sympathies, its not pleasant having a child with baby eczema!
my 1 year old nephew had terrible skin when he first started teething, which has calmed down dramatically now, but still flares up on the odd occasion.
He too has discolouration on his wee bum, due to the break down of his skin during bad flare ups
It doesnt sound as much as your daughter has though. Our doctor advised that there was nothing really much anyone can do about these patches, they may change again as he gets older.
But since you are going to see a specialist they will obv be able to give much more information that I can.
I would keep an open mind and not let anyone on here sway your mind at the moment.
Good Luck and Im sure everything will be okay!
