Eczema Oolong Tea

what are the health benefits of oolong tea?

i heard it was good for eczema, which is why i started drinking it. but i was wondering, is it good for anything else?

Research, in both Asia and West, is proved many health benefits of drinking green and oolong tea. These benefits are as follows:
(1) Like green teas, oolong tea has a very high anti-oxidant content. Tea leaves naturally contain a high level of anti-oxidants. Fermentation changes these anti-oxidants, and the degree of the fermentation affects the amount of anti-oxidant changes. Because oolong teas are only partially fermented they retain a high level of anti-oxidants in their most natural state. Oolong teas have a very high level of polyphenols, which are some of the most potent anti-oxidants. Becuase Polyphenol is a very powerful anti-oxidant, oolong teas have strong powers to prevent heart disease and cancer. One other function of Polyphenol is lower plasma glucose concentrations in subjects with type 2 diabetes (Hosoda, Wang, Liao, Chuang, &Iha et al, 2003.).

(2) According to different research reports (Han, Takaku, Li, Kimura, & Okuda, 1999; Hosoda, Wang, Liao, Chuang, &Iha et al, 2003), drinking oolong tea each meal can effective increase energy expenditure by 10% and increase metabolic rates, increase burning fat.

(3) Better Skin Condition, Healthy Teeth and Stronger Immune System Researchers from Japan's Shiga University of Medical Science found that drinking oolong tea long each day helps to clear up skin problems within one month. A study by the Department of Dentistry at Japan's Osaka University showed that regular consumption of oolong tea strengthens teeth and helps prevent tooth decay by inhibiting the build-up of plaque.

All teas all come from the same plant which is named Camellia Sinensis.
The plant forms chemical compounds called Polyphenols that protect it from photosynthetic stressors. These Polyphenols, which include Flavonoids, are antioxidants. These protect against the harmful free radicals that build up in the body.
Any variety of Tea is always green when picked but what sets green tea apart from Wu Long tea is how it is cultivated. Green tea is heated to stop the leaf from oxidising, when dried the green tea leaves are rolled in order to break their cells. Wu Long tea is plucked then left to oxidise in special controlled conditions. Unlike other green teas, Wu Long tea leaves are not broken so the majority of their cells remain intact.

While they both originate from the same plant the way that they are both processed varies in such a way that it is proven that the Oolong tea is more healthful.

The main active ingredient in Wu Long teas is the compound Polyphenols. This is said to kick-start the enzyme that helps to disperse triglyceride, one of the fatty acids in the blood.

Research has brought to light the wide array of health benefits this tea has to offer.
Regular consumption of Wu-Long tea does indeed intensify the function of fat metabolism and obesity control. The department of Dentistry at Japans Osaka University conducts a study that proved that regular drinking of Oolong tea actually strengthens teeth and helps to prevent tooth decay by hindering plaque build up.

An experiment carried out by test subjects who drank Wu Long discovered that they had a much stronger immune system and a reduced risk of infections than those who do not drink the tea. Additionally, researchers from the Shiga University of Medical Science in Japan discovered that patients that suffer from Eczema reported an improvement in their symptoms after drinking a daily litre of Wu Long tea.
