Eczema Rash On Face
What is this rash on baby's face?
My son is almost four months old. For the last month he has had some really dry skin on his forehead and in his hairline. My friend thought it was eczema and recommended putting baby Vaseline on it. So I have been doing that and it seems to help temporarily, but the last few days it has started to spread. It started going down the sides of his face, now on to his cheeks and nose. Is this eczema? Is it something else? Should I take him to the hospital immediately or is this something more common that can be fixed with a type of moisturizer? Please help. Thanks
If it's really dry, it's eczema. My son had this. Use some aquaphor or eucerin cream.
Eczema is usually an allergic reaction to something. Either the soap/lotion or detergent you're using, or sometimes it's environmental, and my son's was because of food. When I was trying to figure out what was causing the eczema, I switched his soap to Aveeno and used free and clear detergent for all the laundry in the house. I was nursing him, and his eczema turned out to be from the dairy I was eating. Once I cut dairy completely out of my diet, his eczema went away! If you're nursing check your diet!
