Eczema Selsun Blue

I am worried about my puppy?
a few weeks back my dog had brown spots on his stomach and I took him to the vet. The vet said that he has eczema and that with the special shampoo he gave me (which consisted of mostly Selsun Blue) and a steroid shot, my puppy would be fine. I gave him the bath and he was fine for up until about a week and a half ago. The brown spots reappeared on his back and he is biting off all of his fur on his right back side and now on his tail. The vet said when I was in last time that the marks looked like signs of mange, but it wasn't.I gave him his bath on Sunday again and it doesn't look like it's clearing up. Do you think he could have mange, or can it still be the eczema?
he didn't do a skin scraping, but when he said it looked like mange, I asked "well how do you know it isn't" and he gave me a long explanation that I can't even remember, but it had to do with that my puppy has been acting the same exact way and didn't change in behavior.
If they didn't do a skin scraping, there is no way to tell for sure what it is. It sounds like it may be allergies. A lot of dogs have that problem. Give him a hypoallergenic dog food for a while (and nothing else) and see if that helps. Unfortunately, dogs can't stay on steroids for a long period of time because it will start to affect his major organs. A good vet should be able to figure out what it is.
Treating Ringworms Naturally
Ringworm is a fungus and can appear on the feet, nails, scalp and other areas of the body. It is probably best known on the feet under the phrase athlete's foot. Ringworm can spread to different sections of your body so good hygiene is a must. Avoid scratching and touching the spots, as tempting as that may be. It starts as a small red mark similar to a pimple, but grows in little circles. It is not a parasite or a worm, though that is the common association.
Treatment:
1. Common treatments for Ringworm include over the counter anti-fungal creams or powders. There are also doctor prescribed treatments available. While undergoing treatment for Ringworm it is important to keep the skin clean and dry. Also, be sure to wash your sheets and pajamas every day while infected.
2. All you need to do is purchase some anti-fungal cream at your local pharmacy and apply it to the infected area. Most home treatment for ringworm creams are available without prescription. Make sure you wash the infected area thoroughly and remove any flaky skin. After that just dry the infected part and apply the home treatment for ringworm ointment. You will start to see results in a couple of days. Most of these creams will remove the infection in approximately 4 weeks.
3. The seeds of butea are effective in treating several skin problems including ringworm and eczema. A poultice of the leaves is prepared and applied on the affected regions.
4. Depending on what part of your body is infected with ringworm will determine the length of time it takes to fully cure yourself. Scalp ringworm can take up to ten weeks to cure with a conventional treatment that is prescribed by your doctor. A scalp ringworm cure from your doctor is a shampoo and an oral anti fungal drug. The oral anti fungal is needed because the shampoo in ineffective on its own for the reason it cannot penetrate your scalp to fully cure the infection.
5. Vinegar cure is similar to the tea tree oil one. Use apple cider vinegar and a q-tip. Apply the vinegar on the affected area a few times a day. Don't wash it away, just let it dry and apply it over the last application.
6. Clean it with soap. Some people say that Selsun Blue, the shampoo for dandruff may be used to clean the ringworm well. It will help clean and reduce the spread of fungus.
7. Another fascinating folk remedy is the "paper method." People who use this, burn a crumpled sheet of notebook paper in a porcelain plate, and use the ashes or residue as salve for ringworm treatment. Imagine that.
8. Ringworm home remedies can penetrate your skin to kill the fungus that is deep rooted, and they can also be used on your nails and scalp without the need for any oral medicines. They have no side effects, and your health will not be affected either.
9. You can see that home remedies for ringworm and natural cures for your fungal skin infections have plenty of advantages, but some people still prefer the advice of their doctor. At least you know you have a choice.
