How do I control my eczema??
I've always had very dry skin, but about 3 years ago, things got worse. I went to the Dermatologist and he told me that I had eczema. I was also having trouble with my tonsils and went to the ear nose and throat doctor who gave me an allergy testing. He said that I was allergic to cats and dogs. Well, around the time the eczema popped up, I had gotten a French Bulldog. He's seriously amazing. I love him more than any dog I've ever had. But he could very well possibly be the cause of my eczema. I cannot bear to get rid of him. He means so much to me and my boyfriend. Has anyone ever had any success with any topical lotions or even supplements? Or anything else?
I have extremley bad aczema and have had several doctors prescribe lotions.Firstly, you should avoid scented soaps, lotions, and shampoos. Also, the ingredient cocamide monoethanolamine in some shampoos could be irratating to your skin.A shampoo that does not have cocamide monoethanolamine in it is Selsun Blue, and even though it is very drying it should stop some of the irratation.Lotions like Eucerin and Lubriderm are good too.A soap that could help is Cetaphil. Some people use the liquid soap, but personally I prefer the bar soap because the liquid soap is non-alkaline and it is hard to measure the amount needed. Also, certain laundry detergents like Tide could be irratating to your skin if you wash your clothes in it.I would reccommend All.
