Eczema Treatments For The Face

Help with really bad eczema?
I have had really bad eczema on my body face and hands for a few years. I have seen the dermatolgist several times and have been prescribed numerous drugs and creams. My face and body have gotten much better from changing soaps and sun treatment but my hands are terrible. They are swollen cracked and bloody. it seems if i put cream on everyday they are fine, but if I skip even one day it becomes awful again. it is difficult to get anything done because I cant bend my fingers anyone have any suggestions? i am currently using clobetasl propionate ointment (0.05%)
Since you already have been to a doctor and they know that it is a skin condition (eczema can NEVER be confused with any other skin condition) my suggestion is to keep using the cream. I have some of the same ointment that you are using I believe and have found it to work pretty well. Some of the newer drugs - side effects are just too scary to even consider using.
In the evening, I would also suggest using any of the many lotions that are on the market that have already been mentioned. Keeping moisture in your skin will really help. I keep a good quality lotion with me at all times.
You might find the following link of some help. For myself - the sun will set it off. So I make sure that I keep out of the sun and wear hats and long sleeves when I have to go out in it.
You may want to consider looking into making changes in your soaps. I use "Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps" for my body soap (peppermint my favorite). I also use several of the "Mrs. Meyer's" soap products for other areas of my life where I am going to be needing soap (washing dishes). "Mrs. Meyer's" also has laundry detergent that you might find useful. You can buy these at health food stores or see if your local grocery has them as they are becoming more and more common in the general retail market as well. They do cost more - but you are going to find you use less - so it sort of balances out (if you know what I mean).
Best thing to do is to find out your triggers and work around them. After awhile, you will get the feel for what your body is telling you and you will find that the problems that you now are having will lessen and you will be able to lead a very normal life.
