Facial Eczema Symptoms
My 1 1/2 yr old has a rash on her face....is it cause she's teething?
For about a week or so my daughter has had this rash on her face. At first I thought it was because she had 4 molars and 2 front teeth coming in all at the same time. Well now that all 6 teeth have officially popped through, the rash still remains. I have been putting an eczema creme on her face but the rash hasn't gotten better. Is a facial rash a normal symptom of teething? What can I do to help clear it up? I'm going to call the doctor later on but while I sit here at work I just wanted to figure out what is causing it. She has pretty sensitive skin, any kind of food can irritate it but it usually goes away soon after she is done eating.
The rash is on her cheeks and chin mainly. I don't think it's caused by drooling.

It could be from a combination of drooling, and windburn if she plays outside when its cold. It is also possible that she has Fifths Disease, aka Slapped Cheeks disease. It is called this because it looks like someone has slapped their poor little cheeks. It usually looks to be a brighter red than what your daughter has. Even if she does have Fifths Disease though it is not really a cause for concern. It comes from a virus, and like most of the childhood viruses than cause rashes, by the time the rash shows up the child is already almost better. Just use lots of lotion in case she itches, other than that nothing else you can really do about it.
