Yes, there is a definite link.Not everyone who has asthma will have eczema and not everyone who has eczema will have asthma.I have severe eczema on my hands 3-4 times a year. I know that itch my friend, where you've got to scratch or go insane but if you scratch it hurts like hell fire and bleeds and then you get the "bubbling" and it's like having a second degree burn where there are blisters all over your hands and they all itch. And it always occurs as a manifestation of stress. It seems like when I'm under a lot of stress from my job, mostly, I become sensitive to cleaning products and dish detergent or just about anything can set it off but it can only be triggered if the conditions of stress are right.
My job was in medicine and was very high stress all the time; it just seemed to build every so often.
Anyway, Stress is a large factor in asthma also. The body over responds to either outside allergens or to internal anxiety and panic.
The best way to treat both is the same regimen. Steroids and antianxiety drugs.
