Is Psoriasis Spreadable
Can psoriasis spread from touch?
I have what I think is a small patch of psoriasis on my left cheek next to my nostril. It is only really noticeable after a shower and its just a slightly red spot that drys out more than the rest of my face (i have to put tons of lotion on right after a shower or my face gets VERY dry and flaky). I am concerned it might spread to other parts of my face when I apply the lotion by hand and spread it around. Is this possible?
The reason I think it spreads is because it comes and goes on my fingers and now I noticed this on my cheek, though it looks different on my fingers, and is more of a blemish on my face, so im not sure its the same.
Is it spreadable? Also, what can I put on it that wont thin my skin (like hydrocortisone) ?
Psoriasis is not contagious. Unfortunately, it can affect you in many areas of your skin as well. Keeping the affected area clean and moisturized is often helpful. They can appear on any area of the body, but are most likely to be seen on the elbows and knees. It can also affect the skin of the scalp, hands, feet, and lower back. Consult a dermatologist to get the best psoriasis treatment for you.
