Itchy Red rash on body back legs arms head?
My Little brother has a very horrible itchy red rash so itchy he wants to cry my mother has tried everything i mean Everything from aloe to powder you name it shes done it! Nothing is working to clear this rash up its not blistery i dont think its even raised it just looks irritated all over and red/pink Hes itching like its eczema we thought it was but it wont stop itching for a minute hes 10 years old and we've considered it as being fifth desease but its been over 10 days since hes started itching so we marked that off the list. my mother is making a doctor appointment for him tomorrow But any suggestions from anyone would be helpful so he could get a good nights sleep without scratching! Thanks
Sounds like a contact dermatitis...give him some benedryl per package instructions at night and zyrtec OR (not and!) Claritin in the morning (over the counter now) and try Aveno Oatmeal baths before bed (sounds gross but works great and NO regular oatmeal does NOT work!)...He may end up needing patch testing from the dermatologist or scratch testing from an allergist...Good luck!
PS if he is going to a ped instead of a derm don't let them tell you to wait it out...this can be helped quickly! he should not suffer
