Natural Baby Eczema Remedies
Anyone know a good remedy for baby eczema?
My 4 month old boy has eczema on his forehead, cheeks, and now spreading on to his back, arms and legs
The Dr prescribed Sigmacort 1% and it's helped a little but the heat is aggravates it and makes it worse. I keep him clean and dry all the time, but am looking for a remedy (natural preferred) to get rid of it, My poor baby is so itchy all the time and I hate that I can't make it go away....
Any suggestions?
My daughter has had eczema for a long time and it's no fun at all.
First thing is to not bathe them every day, believe it or not the water is very drying to their skin. Wash hair last so they aren't sitting in soapy water, which will dry out and irritate skin. Dry them very good, especially behind the elbows and knees where water can just sit.
Change crib sheets regularly, daily almost. If I forget to change my daughter's sheets her skin tells me all about it.
Wash clothing in very mild detergents made for sensitive skin and if your washing machine has an extra rinse cycle use it.
For really bad days, I have my daughter soak in an oatmeal bath. It really helps with the itching. They have ones specifically for babies, I use Aveeno.
And lastly, moisterize frequently. I could keep her break outs to a minimum if I lubed her up each diaper change. She really enjoyed the massage.
A good natural product you should use is Little Goat's Milk, they have shampoo, soaps and lotion. I swear by the lotion, you can use it with the prescription or on it's own.
Good luck!
