Pictures Eczema On Face
What is this rash on my 4 week old?? *Pictures*?
He started getting it 5 days ago or so, just on the back of his neck, but now it is on his scalp, top of shoulders, under chin, ears, and is creeping onto his forehead and cheek on one side. It seems predominant in areas that get hot, and have skin-to-skin contact. It's worse on the side of his face that he has contact with my skin when nursing, so I've been putting a receiving blanket between us. It doesn't seem to bother him in the slightest. I've just been washing the areas with Johnson's soap and warm water. It's not scaly or dry, so I don't think it's eczema. I was thinking acne or heat rash. What do you think it is, and what can I do to treat it (aside from just waiting it out)?
Suggest stopping the Johnson's, Johnson's has alcohol in it and its drying. My guess is he is reacting to the Johnson's. Give it a break, and then try aveeno baby bodywash (my eczema son uses this). I agree its not eczema. Skin rashes are tough, I am a nurse, and we have sons' with skin issues, and my husband is a skin nurse (WOCN) wound ostomy care.
Are you wearing any perfume, if so stop. What is your detergent? Try dreft for the baby (which you probably already are) and try All clear for yourself.
