can you catch psoriasis through sex?
i had sex with a guy who has psoriasis, he has it on his fingers and i think he might of had it on his penis too, he fingered me before we had sex and now im really sore down below i have little scabs coming up which are really itchy, and white bits down there too. i thought it was thrush so i went to the docs and she thought it was thrush she gave me canesten which ive used but it hasnt gone away, and im wondering if ive got psoriasis down there.
Psoriasis is an auto-immune skin reaction, where the skin replaces itself within 10 days, hence the silvery scales that drop off.
It can be caused by a reaction to some drugs, but most often is hereditary, rather like asthma tends to run in families. Flare ups are most likely when the person is stressed or as a reaction to having a virus.
I think you need to go and be checked out more thoroughly in case you have caught some sort of infection from your partner, and suggest you also consider using a condom in the future, for your own safety.
