Psoriasis Vitamin D Cream

Can you overdose on Vitamin D?

I have psoriasis. I've had them for a long time now. I was just recently at my dermatologist and he prescribed me a cream. Its called Dovobet. It contains 2 drugs. Betamethasone and Calcipotriene. Calciportriene is a form of Vitamin D.
Before I saw my dermatologist, I bought Vitamin D pills to try out also for the Psoriasis. I didn't know this cream had some Vitamin D. It doesn't tell me the percentage.
What I'm wondering is, would it be too much Vitamin D for me to take if I took this cream AND pills? Is it possible to overdose on Vitamin D?

Yes it is, but you should ask the dermatologist. Many topical meds like the one you are describing only impart a small amount of the drug past your skin, so you may be okay taking both. Or just get out in the sun, your body makes vitamin D naturally.

Psoriasis Relief Cream

Skin irritations can leave you feeling terrible. Psoriasis is a particularly nasty condition that affects millions of people throughout the world. Psoriasis begins when the skin creates new cells too rapidly. This causes patches of thick, itchy and scaly skin which is sore and embarrassing. This condition can occur anywhere on the body.

Fortunately there are creams out there that can help you. When you are trying to choose a cream to help with your dermatitis, consider the following points.

What is the cream made from? Are the ingredients natural? Igredients such as vitamin E acetate, palm oil and tea tree oil this treatment can really get into the skin and moisturize it. As a result the person using the cream finds that their symptoms of psoriasis are relieved and soothed in no time.

The main benefits of treating your psoriasis with a cream is the ease of use. It also does not require taking a pill of oral medication at a certain time of the day. Add to this the active ingredients and you have a cream that can be a real help.

Vitamin E acetate within the cream acts as a strong anti-oxidant. By moisturising the skin and sheilding it against harsh rays from the sun, it creates a protective barrier.

Tea tree oil is one of the ingredients that has been used for thousands of years to create healthy skin. It is also known as an antibacterial, so it keeps the skin clean and fresh, even during an outbreak. Keeping the skin clean is essential to avoid getting any very sore patches or abrasions to the skin.

Palm oil actually penetrates deep into the skin which makes it more moisturized and supple. Over time the skin will benefit from a thin layer of protection which it forms. In turn this will slow down the rate at which the skin cells regenerate themselves and psoriasis will become easier to manage.

Some creams also contain salicylic acid, which can help the skin to shed its scaly patches. This means that the thick patches of skin caused by psoriasis are lessened and look less angry.

As you can see, there are a lot of elements to consider when choosing a cream to help with your psoriasis. Take the time to read up on the ingredients before choosing which cream is right for you.
