Best vitamins for hair, skin & nails?

So I went to walgreens and they have 2 different kinds of vitamins for hair skin & nails. One had collagen + vitamin C, and the other had a ton of different vitamins (both Nature's Bounty).
I'm asking because I had a baby 5 months ago and my hair is falling out like crazy (completely normal, but i'm no fan of the disposition).
Also, I have nail psoriasis, and I was hoping that it would help with that as well.
Please help me decide and as for recommendations, brand names would be nice. Thanks!
I just did some more research and a lot of people say that after taking the one w/ a lot of different vitamins, they break out. I would prefer that not happen.

You should just take a multivitamin that should contain biotin since that is an essential nutrient for healthy hair, skin and nails. Then you can add a collagen supplement along with that. Technically if you want your body to function at it's best, you need all of the vitamins and minerals. You also need adequate sleep and proper nutrition. Exercise believe it or not actually increases the endorphins in your brain and it makes you feel good. If you have really dry skin you should also take a fish oil such as cod liver oil or OMEGA 3's.

Dead skin cells push themselves to the surface of the skin and shed naturally as time passes, but in the event that the cells don't shed on their own in a natural manner, dead skin cells build up and this can result in a patch of dead skin that will look anything but smooth and shiny.

In order to avoid this from happening to you, and for your overall skin's well-being, it is necessary from time to time to take matters into your own hands. That means removing the dead skin cells with some form of natural or chemical skin treatment.

There are many ways this can be done. I'll start with the more simple ways and move on to the ways that can be more difficult and invasive.

Exfoliating is a good way to do this on the cheaper side. An exfoliating scrub product can be purchased at most places such as Walgreens and other local drugs stores. They start very cheap, and move up as you get into a designer label or one with an endorsement from someone like a Doctor or Dermatologist. Exfoliating is a good way to scrub the face and remove dead skin cells frequently - it's suggested that you do this every three weeks to keep the skin fresh.

A very good exfoliating medium is one that has granules that won't harm the skin or cause damage to it in any way, shape, or form. If there are sharp edges on the granule, it could cause damage and end up being a waste of time.

Deep facial peels are also popular and highly effective treatments that can remove dead skin cells in a healthy manner. These also come in many prices and forms. You can go with a basic one from a large company that you may be able to get for under $15, or you can go to a spa and pay hundreds of dollars for a touted ingredient that the spa endorses. Of course, you pay for the treatment that the spa services, so you pay for service and pampering more than anything, but often times they will bring strong ingredients, such as seaweed, to the table. This can be worth the price difference.

Whatever route you choose or whatever amount you budget towards that is up to you, the point I like to make is that a deep facial peel can and will remove dead skin cells immediately. A twenty minute application can do wonders for the skin and help it move towards getting the dead skin off the surface and the fresh skin where it needs to be.

Lastly, and most costly and invasive, is the chemical peel. A chemical peel is administered by someone who is licensed. Basically this is like a second degree burn to the face, without the pain. It removes a layer of skin and promotes healthy skin underneath it. The chemical peel works great for people who can put up with the up to two week skin recovery process. It's by far the best way to remove dead skin cells.

There you have it, several ways you can remove dead skin cells. All options work well. Choose one that fits your desire and budget and stick with it.

The author personally recommends the Oro Gold Cosmetics Deep Peeling as a way to remove dead skin cells.
