Rosacea Eczema
Rosacea Eczema
need help....have literally lost the will to live because of rosacea?

I am 32 years old and have had redness on my skin since I was 18...not red lines, no postules, just redness and a occasional rash that comes and goes. Last month, I got a mild sunburn, and then i noticed that my skin got very very dry...I cant even talk or smile i feel like I have an egg mask on my face 24/7. I went to an allergy doctor and he said i have rosacea and eczema...(how lucky am i ) so for the past 4 weeks i have tried numerous products for rosacea and all have made me WORSE...I can not leave the house, for fear of the sun, i eat nothing for fear of a trigger(I have lost 6 pounds and look anorexic) I avoid showers bceause my fgace gets soooo DRY and red I feel like I have been in a fire...I am wasting away...my husband says i am acting like a crazy person...the flareups get so bad.....they hurt and burn that I feel like I can not go one like this...I have not left my house in weeks...is it possible for all of these symptoms to occur in a month????

If you've only seen an allergy doctor, you need to see two other kinds of doctors ASAP: A dermotologist and a psychiatrist. A good dermatologist should be able to help you with your conditions more than an allergist can, and a psychiatrist will help you deal with things while you're getting through treatment.
If the treatments you're trying now are making things worse, stop using them for a while. You're probably just irritating your skin more. Also, I don't see how food could bring this on if the food hasn't brought it on for the whole rest of your adult life. You need to keep eating, or you're going to end up with a lot MORE problems! It sounds like it is brough on by the sun, so you may have photosensitivity or something even more unique. I heard about a girl who mysteriously developed third degree burns and a severe sun allergy after getting burned just one -- strange things can happen, but good doctors can help.
Please don't get too discouraged. There are many treatments out there, and you should get at least a second and maybe a third opinion. There is a good chance you can beat this! It's just a short period in your life that you'll have to suffer through. Don't give up!

Rosacea Causes and Symptoms: Do's and Don'ts!

Rosacea is a long-term skin problem that is characterized by facial redness and since it causes pus-filled pustules, which look similar to pimples, it is often mistaken for acne or eczema. There are four types of Rosacea, which include vascular Rosacea, Inflammatory Rosacea, Preroscea and Rhinophyma. The symptoms of Rosacea include enlarged nose, pain and stinging sensation on the face, broken blood vessels, and facial redness. When the eye is affected, it is referred to as Ocular Rosacea.

The exact cause of Rosacea is not known; however, it is believed to be aggravated by certain conditions. Here is a look at what these conditions are:

  • Facial Blood Vessel Abnormalities – One of the most common causes of Rosacea are abnormalities in facial blood vessels. Such abnormalities cause redness and also make blood vessels to stand out.

  • Skin Color – Those who have a light skin color are more susceptible to Rosacea than people of other skin types.

  • H.Pylori – This is a gut bacterium that causes the breakout of a protein called Bradykinin. Expertstudies show that this bacterium plays an important role in the development of Rosacea.

  • Hereditary – About 30% to 40% people who have Rosacea are found to have a relative who also have it. Experts are not yet aware of the specific genes that cause it.

In addition to these factors, there are other reasons that cause Rosacea. These factors include hot drinks, caffeine, extreme temperature, sunlight, humidity, wind, stress, saunas, vigorous exercise and so on.  Certain drugs are also believed to cause this skin condition. Drugs such as Corticosteroids that dilate blood vessels are also known to be very harmful. A physician will analyze the existence of any of these factors before specifying medication and various treatments processes. If you notice skin conditions such as facial redness or pimple-like outbursts, you are advised to consult your physician because the unnecessary delay may make the problem worse
