Signs Of Psoriasis
Is it just an allergic reaction or psoriasis?
I switched fabric softener brand (thinking I could save a couple bucks) and 3 of the 5 people in my home broke out with red, scaly spots that were sometimes itchy. Looks a whole lot like psoriasis (which is something my mother and sister have had for years put not me). Well now my hubby and our son's spots are gone and all of mine are except the ones on my legs. I have switched back to our old softener and rewashed everything that was washed with the other softener but I have this terrible spots all over my legs. I can't even shave!
Anyway I am wondering is it possible that I just now developed signs of psoriasis or am I still just getting through the allergic reaction?
*I am using allergy cream to help with it and took allergy pills*

Main causes of psoriasis are still not fully understood. It is possible that multiple factor are may contribute in Psoriasis. Auto-immunity is the main role player besides his genetic and environmental factors are also involve in this skin disease.
T-Cells of the body produce some substance to protect skin from infective agents but an irregular activity in immune system take place due to excess of these substances. A rapid growth of skin cells occurs which stack up on the outer surface of skin. Hence an inflammation in the skin occurs. Further more mutation of genes also affects T-helper cells.
Besides autoimmunity and the genetic factor some other factors are also count for Psoriasis like abnormal functioning of liver, anxiety, environmental condition, drugs, infection and injury etc.
