Eczema Itchy Scalp

Itchy scalp, swollen glands - any ideas?
I have had an itchy scalp for around three to four months now which makes my skin flake and peel. The glands at the back of my neck have also now become swollen and over the last few days, dry, red patches have appeared on the back of my neck, which are also extremely itchy.
My doctor gave me a poly-tar cream (cocois) to put on my head and a special shampoo (nizoral) which didn't work. She then gave me a steroid ointment to try (betnovate) which again isn't working.
The itching is driving me mad and obviously the flakiness is very embarrassing.
Any ideas what it could be (eczema?) and how to treat it? A natural or homeopathic rememdy would be great.
It sounds like eczema or maybe psoriasis. You need to continue with the creams, it takes quite a while to get rid of this condition and will only get worse if you stop your medicines.
