What Causes Eczema In Adults
What's the best thing to do for hard water, a softener or individual filters on the sink and showerhead?
We have hard water, high in calcium and magnesium. I think it may be causing my face to break out and eczema. It is also very hard to get the shampoo to lather. And after I wash my hair, it is dry, nonshiny, and doesn't feel that clean. When I take a shower at the gym-my hair is completely different. It is soft, clean, light and shiny. I'm also wondering if this is contributing to my adult acne-which I can't get rid of, and eczema. How expensive and invasive is getting a water softener installed? Can I just put a filter on my shower head and under my sink?
Puting a filter inline is probably not your answer. Installing a water softener is the only way to solve your hard water problem. There are several types available. Locate a local plumbing supply house, call them to see if they will test your water. They can then tell you what size softener you will need after testing your water. It should only take 3-4 minutes for a basic test. Most softeners will remove up to 5ppm of iron and some magnesium. Installation can be complicated and the set up can be overwhelming. Read through the installer's guide. If you are comfortable with it, do it. The best resource is www.aquasystems.com. If you don't find the info online, call them. This is all they do and they love doing it.
